Aged to Perfection: The Sixth Adare Manor Midleton Very Rare Release
The sixth Adare Manor Midleton Very Rare Single Cask release is one of the most exclusive expressions in the collection, with just 120 bottles produced. It is the sixth and most recent release in Adare Manor’s seven-cask collaboration with Midleton Distillery and the penultimate release in this limited series.
For this exceptional single cask, Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman selected a particularly special virgin American oak barrel laid down by former Midleton Master Distiller Barry Crockett on 25 August 1998. After 24 years of maturation, investigation and sampling, the cask was selected for its distinctive character and depth.
The result is a rare Irish pot still whiskey shaped by long maturation in American oak, bringing together vibrant fruit, rich chocolate notes, charred oak and distinctive pot still spices.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Vibrant citrus peel, mango and strawberry develop alongside coconut shavings and chocolate mousse. Charred oak brings smoked wood, nutmeg, white pepper and clove.
Taste: Dark chocolate and cocoa powder meet robust tannins reminiscent of black tea, followed by layers of mixed fruit, clove, cinnamon and pot still spice.
Finish: Satisfyingly long, with the fruit gradually fading to leave lingering oak and spice.
The sixth release captures the spirit of the Adare Manor and Midleton partnership: exceptional Irish whiskey, carefully selected cask maturation and expert craftsmanship combined to create a truly distinctive collector’s expression.
