In the spring of 2017, we welcomed the arrival of several beehives to our gardener's nursery. From spring to autumn, the bees roam our estate foraging for nectar and gathering pollen on their back legs. The nectar and pollen they bring back to the hive provides the delicious, textured, comb honey that is served with breakfast in The Gallery. The Pastry Team also incorporate the honey into pralines and chocolate creations that have hypnotised our guests over the years.
Today with ten thriving hives, we proudly stand as a dedicated conservation area in our mission to protect and nurture the Native Irish Honey Bee. Over 20 acres of our grounds have been thoughtfully rewilded, housing native Irish tree species that harmoniously blend with the surrounding environment. Our dedication to conservation continues with the cultivation of over 5824 square meters of vibrant native Irish wildflowers, painting a tapestry of natural beauty throughout our resort.
