Cashel, County Tipperary
As the song goes, 'It's a long way to Tipperary...' but not from Limerick. Cashel, once the royal seat of the Kings of Munster who had their palace on the now famous Rock of Cashel, which stands like an Irish acropolis on the plains of Tipperary. Here you will find the 12th Century Round Tower, Cormar's Chapel, St. Patrick's Cross, the Hall of Vicar's Choral and the Cathedral of St. Patrick. (1 hour and 30 minute drive each way).
Clare Glens
The Glens, despite their name, are not in County Clare, but form the boundary between the counties of Limerick and Tipperary. The Glens are a very picturesque red sandstone gorge through which the Clare River flows and displays numerous waterfalls. (40 minute drive each way).
Sarsfield's Ride
The best remembered episode of Irish history in the Limerick-Tipperary border county is Patrick Sarsfield's ride to Ballyneety where he and his troops destroyed the siege guns that were being transported from Dublin to Limerick during the siege of 1690, thus saving the city from capture. (30 minute drive each way).
Mitchelstown Caves
Take a guided tour and explore caverns and passages. (90 minute drive each way).
Waterford Crystal Factory
Located in the seaport town of Waterford, this legendary crystal company offers a tour throughout its factory where glass blowing, polishing and cutting can be observed. (2 hours drive each way - check before hand to make sure it is open as it is not open everyday).

Located in the rural village of Kilfinane just 42 km from Adare Manor, Kilfinane OEC provide a range of Adventure Sports Courses and activities for adventures of all ages. We are located within 5mins of the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails, Europes largest Mountain Bike trail park. The Centre is open all year round for courses and group bookings. From June - August each year we offer activities for visitors to the region which include Indoor Climbing, Mountain Biking, Kayaking & Canoeing at Lough Gur, Rockclimbing, Orienteering & Hillwalking.
